SPRAVATO® Treatment for Treatment-Resistant Depression
Available Exclusively at Our Broadview Heights, OH and Roanoke, VA Locations
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray designed for adults experiencing treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. At D2HP Centers, our team provides SPRAVATO® in a safe, private environment with continuous clinical supervision to ensure comfort and stability throughout treatment.
What Is SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO® is a prescription nasal spray derived from esketamine, a medication that works on the brain’s glutamate system to restore healthy neural communication. Unlike traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to begin working, SPRAVATO® can provide meaningful relief within hours to days. It is taken in combination with an oral antidepressant and administered only in a clinical setting under professional supervision.
How SPRAVATO® Works
rTMS is ideal for adults who have not experienced success with traditional depression treatments or are looking for an alternative option. It is commonly recommended for patients with treatment-resistant depression, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and other related conditions. If you are struggling with mood regulation and are seeking a safe, non-invasive solution, rTMS may be right for you.
SPRAVATO® helps activate glutamate receptors, which play a key role in regulating mood and emotional processing. This helps “re-ignite” neural pathways that have become underactive due to depression.
Improves Mood Fast
Many patients begin experiencing relief within the first 24–48 hours. SPRAVATO® provides rapid symptom improvement, especially for individuals who have not responded to multiple antidepressants.
Restores Brain Connections
SPRAVATO® supports the regrowth of damaged or dormant synapses, helping the brain develop healthier patterns over time and improving long-term stability.
Who Is a Candidate?
SPRAVATO® may be recommended if you have not achieved adequate relief from at least two different antidepressant treatments. It may also be an option if you are experiencing major depressive disorder with persistent or worsening symptoms despite therapy, medication, or other treatments.
- Treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
- Major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts
- Limited improvement from multiple oral antidepressants
- Need for a faster-acting therapy option
- Previous trials of psychotherapy, TMS, or other treatment methods
Before beginning treatment, our providers complete a detailed evaluation to ensure SPRAVATO® is safe and appropriate for your individual needs.
